Packkin Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Packkin, a trip and packing-list app, handles information. Packkin is provided by Temirlan Kurbanov. For privacy questions or requests, contact packkin.app@kurtem.com.
Lists and information you enter
Your trips, destinations, dates, traveler and household names, bags, categories, packing items, tasks, templates, and progress are stored in the app’s local storage on your device. Preferences, such as language and appearance, and any complimentary access-code activation are also stored locally.
Packkin does not require an account. We do not operate a server that receives or synchronizes your packing lists or household information. Destination search uses a bundled place-name catalog; search terms and saved destinations are not sent to a geocoding or map provider. The app does not use your device’s GPS location.
Backups, recovery and sharing
When you export a backup or share a list as text or PDF, Packkin creates a file containing the information you choose to export. Files are provided to the apps, people or storage services you select through your device’s sharing or file interface. Their handling of those files is governed by their own privacy policies. Packkin does not upload these files to a developer-operated service.
Exported backups and lists are not password-protected or encrypted by Packkin. Keep them in a location you trust. Exported copies may remain outside Packkin after you edit or delete the original information.
Restoring a backup saves a recovery copy of the previous lists and household information so you can undo the restore. That recovery copy may retain information you subsequently remove from your current lists, until it is replaced by another restore or the app’s local data is cleared. Temporary export and import files may also remain in the app’s cache until cleared by the app or operating system.
Your operating system or device backup service may include Packkin’s local data in device backups, depending on your device settings. Google, Apple or your device provider handles those backups under its own terms and privacy policy. Packkin does not provide automatic cloud synchronization.
Purchases and the full version
Where in-app purchases are enabled, Google Play or Apple’s App Store processes payment, and RevenueCat helps validate purchases, restore them and determine whether the full version is unlocked. This can involve purchase and transaction records, receipt or purchase-token information, a generated anonymous app-user identifier, and technical information such as the app and operating-system version, locale and currency. Network service providers also receive connection information, such as an IP address, when a connection is made.
In builds with purchase services configured, Packkin connects to RevenueCat when the app starts and may refresh purchase status when you return to the app, including if you have not made a purchase. This allows the app to check and restore full-version access.
We do not receive your full payment-card details. We do not send your packing-list contents, destinations, household names or traveler names to RevenueCat as customer attributes. Purchase services are used to provide and maintain purchase functionality and associated purchase reporting, rather than to advertise to you.
Some testing builds do not have store purchases configured. In those builds, Packkin does not initialize RevenueCat’s purchase service. Complimentary review-code activation is verified on the device and does not itself make a payment or send the code to a server.
See RevenueCat’s privacy policy, Google’s privacy policy, and Apple’s privacy policy for their practices.
Advertising, tracking and permissions
Packkin has no advertisements and does not sell your personal information. We do not use advertising trackers or send your packing activity to a general-purpose analytics service. We do not access your contacts, camera or microphone to operate the packing app. Import and export features use your device’s file and sharing interfaces.
App stores and device operating systems may process installation, purchase, performance or crash information under their own policies and your settings. This is separate from your locally stored list contents.
Support and privacy requests
If you contact us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to include in your message. When you use Send feedback in the app, your email app opens a draft that already contains the Packkin version and your device’s operating system and version, so we can investigate; you can edit or remove this before sending. We use this information to respond and resolve your request, and retain it only as needed for that purpose and any applicable legal obligations. Do not send packing backups or sensitive travel information unless needed for the support you request.
Our websites
The Packkin website at packkin.app is hosted by Cloudflare. When you visit it, Cloudflare receives connection and request information, such as your IP address, browser information and the time of the request, to serve and protect the website. The website has no analytics scripts, advertising, tracking pixels, cookies or third-party fonts. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of website data.
This page is hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit it, GitHub receives connection and request information, such as your IP address, browser information and the time of the request, to serve and protect the website. We have not added analytics scripts, advertising, tracking pixels or third-party fonts to this page. See GitHub’s privacy statement for its handling of website data.
Retention, deletion and your choices
You can edit or delete trips, templates and household names within the app. To remove all app-managed local information, including recovery data and cached files, use your device’s app-data clearing controls or delete the app and its data. Device backups may restore old information; manage or delete those backups separately through the relevant provider. Files you exported or shared must be deleted separately wherever they are stored.
Purchase providers may retain transaction records for purchase restoration, accounting, fraud prevention and legal requirements. Removing Packkin does not cancel or erase a store transaction. Contact us for requests about records under our control; we may need information to locate the relevant record and verify your request. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, and complain to your data-protection authority, subject to applicable exceptions. We cannot remotely retrieve or delete lists stored only on your device.
Children
Packkin is intended for people organizing travel and packing. It does not provide child accounts, social profiles or advertising directed at children. If you enter a child’s name as a traveler, it remains part of your locally stored list and any backup or export you choose to share. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us, contact us so we can address it.
Security and international processing
Packkin relies on your device’s application storage and security controls for local data. We do not claim that exported files have additional encryption. Purchase services use encrypted network connections. Service providers may process purchase or support information in countries other than your own under their applicable safeguards and privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Packkin’s features or data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where required, we will provide additional notice of significant changes.
